K9 Justice
The Brandeis University Police Department is thrilled to welcome K9 Justice
The Brandeis University Police Department is thrilled to welcome K9 Justice to our family. Justice will serve as BUPD's first ever comfort dog. In this role, Justice will assist us in our ongoing commitment in providing emotional support, reducing and managing stress, and fostering a welcoming environment for the Brandeis Community. Justice is currently in the process of completing comfort dog training with Boston K9 LLC, which consists of over 120 hours of positive dog training. Once training is completed, Justice will be a fully-certified comfort dog with three levels of AKC Certifications. When she is not in training, Justice enjoys taking selfies with students and walks at home with her Handler and partner, Officer David Thompson. Ofc. Thompson and Justice will be seen attending events and walking around campus. Ofc. Thompson and Justice welcome invitations and requests for events and meet-and-greets regularly. They will offer opportunities for great moments, laughs, conversations and companionship. Whether you just need a quick break, a moment to recharge, or a simple smile, Justice will be there to remind everyone that self-care matters; and that sometimes, a wagging tail can make all the difference. If you would like to request an appearance from Ofc. Thompson and Justice at a University event, please fill out the linked form and someone will contact you as soon as possible.
Please note that appearances from Justice are in high demand and she cannot attend every event for which they are requested but we will do our best to meet as many community requests as possible. We ask that you provide us with as much as advanced notice as possible to schedule an appearance at your event. Also, since Officer Thompson is a BUPD officer, meeting times may be delayed if he needs to respond to an emergency.
