Signature Events
Beacons serve up ice cream to fellow students in the Shapiro Campus Center during 2018 Deiscream! event.
The Beacons have developed three marquee events that center on alumni engagement, social life and wellness, and philanthropic support, respectively. These events are:
Beaconnected
An informal networking luncheon at which the Beacons connect with the Brandeis Alumni Board, who are invited to share how their Brandeis experiences influenced their lives and work after graduation.
Deiscream!
A stress-relief event before exams, which has included lawn games, a moment of guided mindfulness led by a member of the university’s multifaith chaplaincy, an anxiety-shedding group scream and, of course, ice cream from the local favorite, Lizzy’s.
Hoops for Help
A students vs. faculty and staff basketball game and fundraiser kicking off the #1Gift1Vote Challenge, which helps raise funds for a collection of on-campus programs that change every year.
