When people of think of the culture of Russian Jewry, religion and politics immediately come to mind.  But Russian Jewish thinkers and writers hardly confined their interests to piety and party platforms.  As we saw in this session, Russian-Jewish intellectuals produced a vibrant and compelling vision of modern Jewish cultural creativity which encompassed literary, performative and visual art.
