Senator Candidate for School of Business and Economics
I am Jojie Liz Reyes, a first-year MBA candidate at Brandeis, and I am running for SBE Senator to be your advocate. My background in multinational corporate environments has equipped me with a unique ability to manage complex initiatives and connect diverse groups of people across the globe. Beyond operational improvements, I have a proven track record of leading DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) efforts to ensure every voice is heard.
As your Senator, I will leverage this experience to champion your career growth and academic success. However, I believe leadership is about the whole person. I am passionate about promoting holistic well-being by bridging the gap between our rigorous academics and the vibrant world of arts, sports, and community hobbies. Let’s build a Brandeis experience that is as fulfilling personally as it is professionally.
Senator Candidates for School of Science, Engineering and Technology
Hi everyone, I’m Kiya, an international graduate student originally from Ethiopia pursuing my Master’s in Computer Science at Brandeis.
Before coming here, I worked internationally as a backend engineer with a focus on Machine Learning. Beyond the technical work, I’ve always valued collaboration, whether working across teams or helping others learn programming fundamentals. At Brandeis, my academic focus is on expanding access to technology for under-resourced languages, where technical innovation meets real-world impact.
I’m running for SET Senator because I’ve noticed a gap between student interest and institutional efforts. In conversations with peers, I’ve heard about challenges that don’t always surface clearly, and I’ve also seen situations where valuable opportunities, like career events, struggle with low engagement. To me, this doesn’t point to a lack of effort on either side, but rather a lack of alignment.
I want to help bridge that gap as someone who is actively engaged, listening, connecting, and ensuring that student needs and university initiatives actually meet. My goal is to work alongside you and the administration to turn that alignment into practical outcomes that benefit all of us.
