Brandeis Community Cookbook

Wholesome Recipes for Brandeis Graduate Students, by Graduate Students.

Navigating grad school is a marathon, and you shouldn’t have to run it on an empty stomach. The Graduate Student Association (GSA) has partnered with the Brandeis Food Pantry to bring you a digital recipe designed for the reality of student life: limited time, modest budgets, and healthier meals.

Why We Created This

Food insecurity shouldn’t be part of the graduate experience. This collection is a collective effort, born from your peers—to transform the pantry  into nutritious, flavorful meals. Whether you’re a master’s student grabbing a quick bite between seminars or a PhD candidate meal-prepping for a long week in the lab, these recipes are for you.

What You’ll Find

  • Pantry Recipe: Every recipe prioritizes items frequently available at the Brandeis Food Pantry, such as grains, beans, canned proteins, and tomatoes.
  • Budget-Conscious & Nutritious: We focus on high-yield, low-cost meals that don't skimp on the vitamins you need to stay sharp.
  • Global Flavors, Local Access: Brandeis is home to a diverse international community. Our recipes reflect that, offering creative ways to use standard ingredients to create flavors from around the world.
  • Minimalist Methods: Most dishes require only basic equipment and under 30 minutes of active prep time.
