I have started a new job as an editorial assistant working primarily on early-reader books at Heinemann, an educational publishing company. I still live in Somerville, Mass. Please contact me with any news.
Rebecca Smith Stern and Jonathan Stern ’02 welcomed son Benjamin Elliott into the world on Dec. 3, 2012. Cantor Mike Zoosman married Molly Winston on June 10, 2012, in Baltimore. Cantor Lawrence Szenes-Strauss officiated. Matt Silver ’02 served as best man, and Shoshana Stern and Sonya Taaffe, MA’03, attended. Mike left his full-time pulpit work and part-time prison chaplaincy in Vancouver, British Columbia, to serve as Jewish chaplain/chaplain resident at Saint Elizabeths Hospital, a civil and forensic psychiatric hospital in Washington, D.C. Mike and Molly (yes, they know) live in Hyattsville, Md. After five years of serving as a congregational rabbi in Durham, N.C., Leah Berkowitz returned to the Boston area as a faculty member at Gann Academy, a pluralistic Jewish high school in Waltham. Tara Mathis Williams is married, has a 2-year-old daughter and wrote that she is expecting another child in February. She was promoted to program director for the College Preparatory and Leadership Program at Mott Haven Village Preparatory High School in the Bronx. Sarah Davis was inducted into the Plattsburgh (N.Y.) High School Hall of Fame. She starred in soccer, indoor track and softball before graduating in 1999. At Brandeis, she played soccer for four years and served as team captain. Sarah is a youth advocate in Minneapolis. Heidi Montanari received her MS in occupational environmental hygiene from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She received the Dean’s Award for highest grade-point average and outstanding performance in the work environment master’s/PhD program.
