Jordan Barkin is a writer who’s been published in such outlets as U.S. News & World Report, HuffPost and The Hill. He lives in Atlanta. Leah Berkowitz became rabbi of Congregation Kol Ami in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, in July. Her first book for children, “The World Needs Beautiful Things,” will be published by Kar-Ben this fall. In December, Jordan Berman and his wife, Liz, welcomed their first child, Eliseo Kenneth. Amanda Harris moved to Minneapolis for a change of scenery and adventure after 10 years in Las Vegas. She continues to work for the national office of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She would love to connect with other ’Deis alums in her new area. Peter Kenlan is a real estate attorney at Pierce Atwood in Portland, Maine. Liliana Kualapai and Hal Schneider ’02 moved to Belchertown, Massachusetts, with their three children (ages 2, 4 and 8) and are loving the Western Mass. area. Liliana opened a new firm, On-Point Business Solutions, to do private business consulting. Jessica (Rubin) Lewis and her husband, Kyle, welcomed their first child, Madeline Etta, on Feb. 17. Jessica is taking a break from geriatric medicine to spend some time at home with the new arrival. She looks forward to meeting other babies from the Class of 2003. In September, Danielle Sommer returned to the U.S. from Costa Rica with her fiancé. The couple married in December and lives in St. Louis, Missouri. Danielle works for Omega Yeast, which custom-propagates healthy, fresh and innovative yeast strains for U.S. and international craft brewers.
