Since retiring from a 40-year career in health-care administration, Ronald Kemper is enjoying writing. His semiautobiographical novel, “Sink or Swim, Brooklyn” (Atmosphere Press, 2020), garnered favorable reviews. Marc Sapir volunteered as a medical screener for a local COVID-19 quarantine program and a free clinic sponsored by the Rotary Clubs. His first great-grandchild, Grace, has turned 7 months old. “I remain a determined opponent of the Zionist state’s never-ending apartheid,” he writes, adding, “but of course I’m as Jewish as the day I was born in Brooklyn.”
