Curricular Oversight Committees
The Foreign Language, Non-Western and Comparative Studies, Oral Communication, Quantitative Reasoning, and University Seminar programs are administered by separate committees. The University Seminar program should include members from all four schools. Each committee is appointed by the Dean of Arts and Sciences annually and is responsible for establishing criteria for course approval and for collecting data on a regular schedule appropriate for assessing the extent to which the program is meeting its explicit educational goals. Courses can be added and deleted with the approval of the appropriate committee and the Dean of Arts and Sciences. All oversight committees, consisting of the Dean of Arts and Sciences and the faculty members who chair each program committee insure the proper functioning and development of the overall program.
