Peer Support and Tutoring
Open to all Brandeis undergraduates, BUGS offers tutoring at no cost to students. Group Study Leaders are undergraduates who have successfully completed the relevant course(s), are recommended by faculty, and have been trained by Academic Services. These peer tutors lead sessions to review course material, discuss study strategies, and help prepare for assessments.
This program helps undergraduate students learn about new possibilities for their lives, how to apply the focus, energy, tenacity, perseverance, and maturity previously devoted to prevailing in the face of personal challenges, to now pursuing academic success.
Brandeis Posse Scholars are selected for their academic, leadership, and communication skills. They are expected to be not only strong students but also demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
This trained group of junior and senior peer academic advisors provides an informed and accessible peer perspective on navigating academics at Brandeis. They work closely with staff in Academic Services. All first year, midyear and transfer students at Brandeis are assigned a Roosevelt Fellow peer advisor to support them in their academic transition.
SAS Fellows are undergraduates students who support their peers in their adjustment to college life, both academically and socially.
Undergraduate departmental representatives are peer advisers who have been selected for leadership positions with the aim of strengthening the undergraduate learning experience and community within their academic departments and programs.
“This is your chance to grow, learn, explore, and just be you. Brandeis makes that possible. You’ll find your people here — I promise.”
