How to Apply
Student trainees in the CMCB program are drawn from five different PhD programs:
Any student working in the lab of a CMCB training faculty is eligible to apply to the program. Potential trainees apply in June of their first year of study, after they have completed their first year of coursework and their rotations, and have selected a training faculty lab for their thesis research. Potential trainees and their advisors will submit a one-page outline of the initial areas of focus of their PhD work. Each year, the Program Directors, in consultation with the Steering Committee, review the applications and select a cohort of six students with research interests distributed across diverse areas. Trainees are typically appointed for two years, during which time they are funded by the T32, but their training and participation in the CMCB program (including the Externship in Year 4+) continues until they graduate.
