Brandeis Professor Sylvia Fishman (Emerita) is working on a project analyzing Jewish women's public leadership roles, especially after October 7, 2023 for a new book project currently titled, "And She Arose: Jewish Women Leaders for Troubled Times." She is seeking an intern to assist in building a list of Jewish women leaders in diverse fields providing public Jewish communal leadership, including law, medicine, politics, religion, education, news, media, popular culture, literature and the arts. The intern will survey print and electronic media to build the list, and together with Professor Fishman select key individuals to research in order to compile biographical portfolios.
Profile of Appropriate Candidate
- Demonstrated interested in the topic is a plus
- Excellent research skills in media and print sources
- Experience creating bibliographies helpful
- Strong writing skills
- Detailed oriented, organized, independent, resourceful
