Hillel International and Brandeis University partner to support development of next generation of Jewish changemakers
Leaders with the world's largest Jewish campus organization will now have increased opportunities to earn a master's certificate through The Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Hillel International and Brandeis University announced a new partnership today to support the development of the next generation of Jewish changemakers and leaders.
The partnership will provide fully online professional development opportunities for Hillel staff and Springboard fellows who wish to progress their careers serving the Jewish community.
"Robust opportunities for Jewish professional development are integral to our talent strategy at Hillel and to our collective Jewish future," said Adam Lehman, president and CEO of Hillel International. "By partnering with Brandeis, we will provide emerging Jewish leaders at Hillel with new tools to better serve their communities at this critical time and beyond. On campus, we witness first-hand on a daily basis the impact of effective Jewish leadership on the student experience. We look forward to working with Brandeis to create positive change and support the leaders of tomorrow."
The cornerstone of the partnership is the university's Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership master's certificate, an eight-month program that focuses on the core skill sets Jewish professionals need to face today's challenges in impactful, compassionate and creative ways. All Hillel professionals; including campus staff; Springboard fellows, who are part of Hillel International's premier early career professional program and commit to two-years of engagement work on select Hillel campuses; and Hillel International staff; who enroll in the Jewish Professional Leadership certificate or any other Brandeis Online program will receive discounted tuition.
With this partnership, Hillel joins a network of mission-driven organizations at Brandeis that are dedicated to supporting the next generation of Jewish changemakers. Other participants in the Jewish Professional Leadership partnership program include JCC Association of North America, Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, and Avodah.
Like all graduate programs within Brandeis Online, Hornstein’s online certificate offers an asynchronous learning model, allowing students to build leadership skills and lasting relationships with Jewish professionals and organizations from any location and without leaving their jobs or fellowships.
"We hope this educational partnership will make high quality leadership training and professional development more accessible for the next wave of aspiring Jewish leaders,” said Liora Norwich, Director of the Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program. “Hornstein is proud to partner with Hillel and support its important work on campuses."
The Jewish Professional Leadership certificate curriculum includes four courses for 12 graduate credits. The courses include Organizational Behavior in Jewish Nonprofits, Human Resource Management in Jewish Nonprofits, Confronting Contemporary Antisemitism, and Skills & Techniques in Jewish Fundraising & Philanthropy.
Hornstein’s online master’s certificate in Jewish Professional Leadership is now accepting enrollments for its inaugural 2024-25 cohort, with the first course in the program beginning on October 28, 2024.
