Postdoctoral Fellows
Bio: Danny Hellstein (Goldstein) is a Physics PhD and Postdoctoral Research Computing Expert at Brandeis who enjoys programming simulations and using them to teach fundamental and physics concepts with fun visuals and easy to understand code. He aims to use his experience as a software engineer to improve the way we as physicists write code.
Current project: Computational Physics Education & An Easy-to-use Multigrid Solver
Danny is teaching a better way to write scientific code by focusing on three topics: Code Reuse and Readability, Design Documents, and Testing. He currently gives a weekly Special Topics in Research Computing Seminar and holds Research Computing office hours. Danny is also developing a broad purpose easy-to-use multigrid solver aimed at solving active nematic equations.
