Declaring a Psychology Major or Minor

Two smiling students seated in a psychology classEach psychology major is assigned a faculty advisor from whom general advice about courses or career plans is best attained. In addition, the psychology undergraduate advising head is available for consultation even before you declare psychology as a major.

  1. Download a Declaration Form in the Office of Academic Services ; the form is available here:
  2. As an aide to complete the Declaration Form, it will be helpful to use the checklist (pdf) to assure that all requirements are understood and listed.
  3. Submit your completed form via email to our Undergraduate Advising Head, Professor Joe Cunningham <cunningh@brandeis.edu> and cc our Undergraduate Academic Coordinator, Evelyn Caira <caira@brandeis.edu> . IF you prefer, Dr. Cunningham will set up a zoom meeting for this- send him a few available time slots that you are free to meet. 
  4. Once Professor Cunningham approves your form, he will notify Evelyn Caira. She will process this transaction and assign you a psychology faculty member as your advisor.
