Brandeis Cohort Programs
A Cohort is defined as: a small group of people with something in common (e.g. identity, purpose, etc.) who meet regularly for a certain period of time. Our Cohorts are facilitated groups that provide opportunities for discussion, dialogue and inquiry, and a fun way to get to know one another.

Body Positive Brandeis groups utilize the power of peer support to empower and engage people of all identities to engage in thoughtful, meaningful dialogue about their bodies and well-being. These groups meet weekly and follow an 8-session curriculum covering the five competencies of The Body Positive:
- Reclaim health
- Practice intuitive self-care
- Cultivate self-love
- Declare your own authentic beauty
- Build community
Body Positive groups will not be offered in the fall 2021 semester. However, free online courses remain available. These courses can be completed independently, and include interactive exercises to improve your relationship with your body. If you are interested in participating in a spring group, please email hawp@brandeis.edu to be added to the email list.
*Open to all undergraduate students
Do you wish you had a space to tackle big questions about what it means to be human? Do you want to develop skills for participating in and leading better conversations? Are you looking for community on campus?
Conversations that Matter is a popular 5-week fellowship. Discussions take place weekly and explore questions such as “For whom are we responsible?” and “How do we disagree?” in order to explore the assumptions and values that underlie many of today’s most pressing issues.
Participants have the option of participating in two-week leadership training upon the conclusion of the fellowship.
- Format: Cohort will gather in person over dinner
- Time commitment: Meet once a week for 5 weeks
- Details: Cohort will begin meeting in late September
Visit the Center for Spiritual Life website for more information.
The Jewish Learning Fellowship (JLF) is an opportunity to be a part of an experiential, conversational seminar for those looking to deepen their understanding and connection to Judaism on their own terms. When you participate in JLF, you’ll have the opportunity to ask the big questions – Who am I? What communities am I part of? What is worth committing myself to, and why?
We make no claims about the “right” way to practice or not practice Judaism. Our job is to help you explore the tradition and find your own place, on your terms, in Judaism’s Great Conversation. In addition, we want to nourish you (dinner is a part of the JLF experience) and value your time (after completion of the program you will receive a stipend). View the Fall 2021 cohort descriptions.
