Kara Larsen '21, who double-majored in East Asian studies and international and global studies, had been taking Mandarin for more than five years. They discovered their love for learning the language in high school while living in Tianjin, China.
"No matter what field you plan to be in, knowing another language can only benefit you," Larsen said.
As a WLC Fellow, Larsen managed the Facebook and Instagram accounts dedicated to language learning at Brandeis. Their posts updated on various aspects of language learning, including profiles of students, faculty and teaching assistants at the university.
Larsen was grateful for the opportunity to help inspire other students at Brandeis about languages, and hoped to make a difference in the WLC community.
