All Languages Dinner

Every year, the World Languages and Cultures Committee organizes the All Languages Dinner (during I Am Global Week) to experience and celebrate the linguistic diversity of the Brandeis community.

All languages taught at Brandeis are represented by a respective table. Individual language tables host speakers of Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Latin, Greek, and Yiddish. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate, and each participant takes a language pledge to communicate only in a language other than English.

This tradition, which started in 2013, is supported by the Division of Humanities, , the Mandel Center for the Humanities, the Provost's Office and the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
