Heating Dos and Don'ts

Do wear warm clothing inside and turn down the heat.

Do use natural lighting, leave the shades up during the day to gain more heat in your room.

Don’t use your window to regulate heat- will just make the heater work harder!

Don’t leave your heat on the highest setting when you leave your room for extended periods of time.

Turning the dial all the way to the snowflake sets your heat to the lowest (coldest) level. This setting is often high enough to warm the room and helps to reduce the energy usage of the campus heating network.

If you feel your heater is not working for any reason, please file a work order with Facilities Services.
