What are the two most important things you learned through your internship?

"Time management and organization play a huge role in this internship. Calling on prospects requires one to manage his calendar. You must always be aware of the time and try to book appointments in close proximity to promote efficiency and avoid the penalty of traffic tie-ups. Organizing yourself starts with waking up early enough to be at work at 730 AM and planning your day to get the most accomplished.

The second most important factor is perseverance. To obtain results in this internship is a game of numbers: 1 out of every 10 people you see will buy something. I learned to look at “failure” as just the next person I had to go through to achieve success."

Credit & Transcript Options

Academic Internships are credit-bearing, faculty-supervised experiences in which you combine critical thinking and intentional reflection with your academic study.

Every Brandeis Academic Internship experience is designed to maximize the student's learning and professional skills. While all programs approach the internship experience differently and vary by discipline, the strength of the Brandeis experience stems  from hands-on faculty guidance and academic rigor.

Contact Jessica Paquin, Academic Internship Administrator, for more information.

Earning Credit For Your Internship:

  • You may receive credit for their internship by combining your internship with a course (see table below).
  • Brandeis credit is not given for the internship itself, but for the combination of the internship and the academic component.
  • Many Majors/Minors offer an internship course option.
  • These course offerings vary by department and program. Click on the Internship Course below for more information on it, OR find your major or minor from the menu and learn more about internships in each department/program.
