Graduate Student Cross-Registration Procedures
Adding a Cross-Registered Class
Full-time graduate students may enroll in one course per semester at Babson College, Bentley University, Boston College, Boston University, Tufts University, the Graduate Consortium in Women’s Studies at MIT (for GSAS and Heller students only) or Regis College and UMass, Boston (for Heller students only).
Note: Some graduate programs at Brandeis may have additional provisions or restrictions regarding which institutions students may cross-register with, so please confirm with your program advisor before making plans to cross-register.
To cross-register, the student must complete the cross-registration form at the beginning of the semester and have it signed by the cross-registration coordinator and their program chair/adviser. The student then needs to obtain the instructor’s signature along with a copy of the syllabus and register in person at the registrar’s office of the host school.
The cross-registration form is now online. Please use the link below to notify our office of your cross-registration request. Upon completion of the form, a signed cross-registration form as a PDF attachment will be sent to your email address within 24 hours (one business day).
The form is available August 17 - September 8th.
Once registered at the host school, the student then returns to the Brandeis Office of the University Registrar with the copy of the completed cross-registration form (attaching the course syllabus) to complete the registration process. Cross-registration must be completed in person at the Registrar's office, Kutz 121 by the student enrolling in the course. Students must honor the registration deadlines of both the host institution and Brandeis.
Dropping a Cross-Registered Class
Should a student wish to drop a cross-registered class, the student must first inform the instructor (and obtain the instructor’s signature, if required), go in person to the registrar’s office at the host school to drop the class and then bring a copy of the completed drop form to the Brandeis Office of the University Registrar to finalize the drop process.
Note: Failure to drop the course properly may result in a negative notation on the student’s transcript.
