About the Undergraduate Student Mini Grant

The COMPACT Undergraduate Student Mini Grant provides up to $500 in funding to support an undergraduate-led community-engaged project that advances the priorities of a community organization and creates positive social impact. This is a great opportunity for students to build their civic leadership skills, benefit from faculty mentorship, and prepare for larger-scale civic funds and programs such as the Newman Civic Fellowship, Projects for Peace, and other pathways for community engagement.

  1. Completed or currently enrolled in CESP 10a Foundations in Community Engagement.
  2. Alumni of the Samuels Scholars Program (SSP).

And provide:

  • A letter of support from a faculty advisor who will provide mentorship for their project.
*If you haven’t completed 1 or 2, please demonstrate previous community-engaged work and/or funding in your application.

Requirements

  • Follow COMPACT's grant guidelines.
  • Student grantees must complete a final report within 30 days of the completed project including a short reflection (500 word max), a summary of outcomes (500 word max), and at least two photos with descriptions. This report must be approved by their faculty mentor.
