Human Research Protection Program

An In-depth Look at the Institutional Review Board

The Institutional Review Board is a local administrative body established in response to the National Research Act of 1974 to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects recruited to participate in biomedical or behavioral research activities.

All human subjects research conducted under the auspices of Brandeis University or by a member of the Brandeis University community must be reviewed and approved by the Brandeis University Institutional Review Board.
