Located just nine miles outside of Boston, Brandeis University sits atop a beautifully landscaped, 235-acre campus in Waltham, Massachusetts.
As you walk around campus and explore the Waltham/Boston area, you will begin to get a sense of the vicinity's abundant history, plentiful cultural and recreational opportunities, and wealth of educational resources — especially for students in the health professions and our post-baccalaureate premedical program.
Boston is the premier “college town” in the United States, with something for just about everyone, including the more than 300,000 college students who make the Boston area their academic home. Boston is where contemporary meets historic, state-of-the-art medicine is practiced in hospitals with 200+ year old histories, and medical advances make history of their own. Brandeis post-baccalaureate premedical students take advantage of the many opportunities offered by world-class health facilities in the Boston area. Post-bac students have volunteered in Boston, Waltham, Newton, and surrounding communities, most recently including Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Getting Around
The Brandeis-Roberts commuter rail station is adjacent to campus.
Commuter Rail (Train)
The Boston area's public transportation system — the "T" — connects Brandeis with Greater Boston. The MBTA makes destinations in Waltham, Boston, Cambridge, and beyond readily accessible for everything from off-campus housing to internships and research opportunities at the multitude of world-famous Boston area medical facilities.
Brandeis Shuttle
Getting into the city is easy — the Brandeis shuttle makes almost 30 trips a week into Boston, and the walk to both the Brandeis/Roberts commuter train stop and the local bus only takes a couple of minutes.
Housing
Most Brandeis post-bac students live in the neighborhoods and communities surrounding campus. Affordable housing and apartments make the Waltham area very attractive to Brandeis students. This fact, along with Waltham's rich cultural history, allows students to experience life off campus just minutes from home.
