Waste Rates

Since fiscal year 2015, Brandeis has seen a dramatic increase in composting in our two dining halls due to the efforts of Sustainable Brandeis, Sodexo, and our Facilities Services Team. 

Did you know?

  • All food scraps, both in the kitchen during meal prep and plate scrapings from meals, are composted in Lower Usdan and Sherman. 
  • Sherman's Kosher plates are composted.
  • Event and office composting are expanding throughout 2018-2019. 
  • As of January 2019, we are also committing to all-compostable table ware in our catering services. Learn more here.
