The Director oversees operations, management, and strategic decisions/priorities of the Division of Science. She assists and advises the Head of the Division in planning and executing initiatives to enhance research and instruction in the sciences, and works with departmental staff and faculty to develop and implement interdepartmental programs, events, business process improvements, and other initiatives within the Division. The Director supervises Finance, Grad Affairs, Personnel, Pre-Award, and Technology functional group managers and supports them with strategic planning, overseeing Division operating funds and guiding research administration, graduate program development, and human resources administration. The Director works with offices across campus to advocate for and further the mission of the Division of Science.

The department/program offices are responsible for directing the efficient operation of the department under the direction of the Department Chair. These administrative structures oversee day-to-day operations including, at a high level, running the academic and research missions, running events, managing facilities and space issues, and coordinating faculty hiring and promotion activities. The people in the department/program structures work closely with Faculty, Division- and Dean-level staff to ensure smooth functioning of the department.

The Division Senior Coordinator provides day-to-day support for the Division Director and Division Head. She maintains Division calendars and meeting scheduling, database records, organizational data, and Google groups; runs Division events, in particular the summer undergraduate fellowship program and SciFest; oversees the event calendar and SciSeminar mailings; oversees external billing for Division recharge centers; and supports the Science Council by scheduling meetings, writing up minutes, managing the course approval process, and collecting information for current and ongoing projects as needed by the Division of Science Director and Head.

The Division of Science Finance staff (SciFinance) provides financial support for university and post-award accounts to departments, research groups within the departments, programs, and centers within the Division of Science, which currently includes Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Physics, Psychology, Rosenstiel, Quantitative Biology, and Volen. Staff in this office oversee the budgeting, reconciling, and reporting for all Division of Science university funds and sponsored accounts and work closely with department administrators and faculty members to provide up-to-date financial reports and assist with forecasting.

The Science Personnel Office (SciPersonnel) provides HR administrative support to faculty and staff in the departments and programs within the Division of Science, which currently includes Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Physics, Psychology, and Quantitative Biology.
Staff in the office manage business functions for research staff, postdocs, and appointees/affiliates. The group liaises between Division of Science faculty and managers and Human Resources to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant administration of the operations involved in employing research staff and postdocs, as well as overseeing courtesy appointees for the departments and programs involved in the research mission.

The Division of Science Pre-Award Office provides support for submission of research proposals and post-award documentation to principal investigators (PIs) in the departments and programs in the Division of Science, which currently includes Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Physics, and Psychology. Staff in this office provide administrative support to investigators to ensure research proposals are compliant with federal, university, and sponsor regulations as well as assist in timely proposal submission by interfacing with the Office of Research Administration and other administrative units at Brandeis or collaborating institutions.
