Leah Berkenwald
Leah Berkenwald ’07
Director of Health Promotion and Wellness Initiatives

Leah holds a master's in Health Communication from Emerson College in collaboration with the Tufts University School of Medicine, as well as a master's in American Studies from the University of Nottingham. She earned her Bachelor's in American Studies with a minor in Journalism at Brandeis in 2007.

Leah currently serves on the New England College Health Association Board of Trustees, and is an active member of the American College Health Association and the New England Health Educator Network. In her spare time she enjoys improv, hiking and creative writing.

Sarah holds a master's in higher education administration from Boston College and a bachelor's in communications from the University of Delaware. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and snowboarding.

 

Alena Lokhmanenko

Graduate Affairs Peer Advisor

Alena is a second-year Psychology MA student in GSAS. She received her BA in Neuroscience from Wellesley College. Currently she's a member of the Aging, Culture, and Cognition lab at Brandeis University. Her research interests lie in cognitive neuropsychology, especially memory, language and attention. Alena is originally from Belarus and is interested in Belarusian history and culture. In her free time, she likes to go on hikes and to the beach in summer, and stay at home and read books in winter. As a HAWP member, she hopes to spread the information about resources available to Brandeis graduate students and encourage students to maintain their physical, mental, and social wellbeing.

Samantha Atlas

HAWP Intern

Samantha is a junior majoring in neuroscience and biology and minoring in psychology. She is also a clinical research assistant at the Valera Lab and a patient care associate at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. As an intern at HAWP, Samantha is so excited to help spread awareness about mental health and support students on their wellness journeys. In her free time, Samantha enjoys running, kayaking and going to the theater!
