Brandeis University gives its leaders and managers the tools they need to succeed. Below are helpful documents for onboarding of new employees and for evaluating current employee performance.

Staff Managers Certificate Program

The curriculum is targeted at newly appointed, early career through mid-career managers and is focused on practical knowledge and skills needed to succeed in managing staff and grow their leadership skills at Brandeis. Managers who complete all four sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be invited to attend an in-person gathering with light refreshments with their manager to receive their Certificate.  This program is offered every Fall and Spring.

Participants in the Certificate Program must supervise at least one staff member, must commit to attending each session and complete any assigned pre or post workshop work.  Each session will be two hours with a short break in between.

By completing this program, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn strategies and practice skills that can increase your effectiveness as a manager
  • Share common challenges managers face and practice strategies to address those
  • Build a network of colleagues to share learning and reflections
Hiring Managers Monthly Workshop

Human Resources is delighted to introduce a new 45-minute monthly training workshop tailored specifically for hiring managers: Recruitment and Hiring for Managers. These workshops are designed to provide managers with essential knowledge and proven strategies to attract, assess, and hire diverse talent while minimizing bias throughout the recruitment process. Managers at any stage of hiring are encouraged to participate. Please note, these sessions are intended to complement, not replace, the recruitment strategy meetings you have with your talent specialist. Together, we aim to enhance our ability to attract and hire talented, engaged, and diverse staff to Brandeis.

Navigating Change with Confidence Workshop for Managers   REGISTER

Change is constant—especially in today’s workplace. Change does

not have to be overwhelming—with the right approach, it can be an opportunity

for growth and innovation.  Join us for an interactive workshop on “Managing Change with Confidence,” designed exclusively for managers. This session will equip you with practical strategies to lead through transitions, address resistance, and foster a culture of adaptability.
