Jewish College Students and the Israel-Gaza War

Spray painted boulder with 'Stand with Israel' and 'Free Palestine'This study seeks to understand how Jewish students on university campuses have been impacted by the Hamas attack on October 7 and the ensuing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. In particular, the study is concerned with student perceptions of the Israel-Palestine conflict, Jewish identification, and personal safety (in light of the widely reported rise of antisemitic incidents on American university campuses). There has been much reporting in the press about Jewish student perceptions of antisemitism and attitudes about Israel and the Palestinians. This qualitative interview-based research project is designed to better understand the range of student attitudes. Greater insight into how students are thinking about this subject will help to demystify this subject and combat rife speculation.
