Math Mentors

Spring 2024

Pengqiu Li
Mentor

Pengqiu Li is a senior double major in Applied Mathematics and Physics. He has worked as a Physics Resource Room Tutor in the fall semester of 2022 and research assistant for Professor Jonathan Touboul since the spring semester of 2022. His favorite subjects in mathematics are differential equations, dynamical systems, and numerical methods, and he is also willing to talk about analysis. Out of school, he enjoys reading, hiking, jogging, swimming, cooking, and recently indoor rock climbing. He loves talking to peers to discuss mathematics as well as any interesting topics. After graduation, he plans to pursue a Ph.D. in a graduate school, and he is willing to give personal advice on graduate school applications.

Caitlyn Pennie

Caitlyn Pennie is a Junior double majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. She has previously interned at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue as a Tax Analysis intern, applying both her skills in mathematics and computer science. Her favorite classes at Brandeis are Introduction to Combinatorics and Introduction to Real Analysis. Outside of her academic life, Caitlyn is the captain of the Brandeis Quadball team. She has had an interest in Mathematics since high school and this summer hopes to intern at a lab and research advanced sensors.

Mason Price
Mason Price
Mentor

Mason Price is a junior majoring in math and physics. He was previously a TA for the Intro Physics Labs 1 & 2, and he is currently doing research in a physics lab studying self-assembly of soft-matter systems (which has some surprising and interesting connections to math). In his free time, he is active in the robotics club, and he enjoys rock climbing, origami and reading. He is passionate about math and excited to get to know more people who might be interested, so please reach out with any questions about courses, activities, life on campus, or if you just want to chat!
