How to Apply

Prospective Master's degree students can apply online at the Brandeis University GSAS website.

Requirements

Students are considered for admission based on the strength of their application as a whole. Admissions committees take into account the student's academic record (grades and related coursework), letters of recommendation, work and/or research experience, and the individual’s motivation for applying to attend a Master’s program. GREs are not required.

International applicants: there are additional requirements for international applicants (non-U.S. citizens or non-permanent residents), minimum TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores, and important information regarding visas. If the student is submitting TOEFL scores, please note that the Brandeis TOEFL institution code is 3261.

See the MCB Graduate Program webpage on the  for additional information and requirements.

Application Deadlines

The MCB Master’s degree program accepts applications for both the fall and spring semesters. For Fall admission, applications will be considered and admission offers will be made on a rolling basis until May 1; application review begins on January 15. For Spring admission, applications will be considered and admission offers will be made on a rolling basis until November 15 for domestic students, and October 15 for international students (due to time constraints in visa acquisition).

Please note that the admissions application may be closed earlier if desired cohort size is reached prior to the above deadlines. As we cannot predict when we will complete the admission cycle each year, applicants are advised to submit applications as early as possible.

Brandeis University is committed to providing an environment free from discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religious creed, gender identity and expression, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status. The MCB MS Program welcomes applications from students with disabilities. The university has support services in place for this population.
