Dov and Linda Snitkof Hyman write they had a remarkable year filled with blessings: “We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, the marriage of our eldest daughter, the birth of two beautiful granddaughters, our son’s white-coat ceremony at the Yale School of Medicine, and the marked improvement in the quality of life for our special-needs daughter.” Dov travels the world for his industrial partnership/offset advisory business, and hosts several global offset conferences each year. Linda spends as much time as possible with their granddaughters. “We treasure our Brandeis years and the many great friends we made, many of whom are still woven into the fabric of our lives,” Dov and Linda say. Robert Lavin is director of chronic pain management at VA Maryland Health Care System and associate professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Jonathan Miller writes, “Retirement befits us. All our children live in the Washington, D.C., area, and we have joined them.” Brian and Rhonna Weber Rogol live on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Brian works at GE Capital Aviation, in Norwalk, Connecticut, and Rhonna is immersed in volunteer and educational activities in the city, especially at Kehilat Romemu and the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Daughter Alissa, a lawyer, is completing her medical training at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, and is applying for residencies in psychiatry. Son Josh leads culinary walking tours and does freelance travel writing. Son Dane is a senior financial analyst at United Airlines in Chicago. Birat Simha is enjoying retirement and spending time with his granddaughters, ages 3 and 1. He was recently visited by his Brandeis host family’s granddaughter, who came to Nepal for a week. He has stayed in touch with that Framingham, Massachusetts, family since 1973. They even attended his daughter’s graduation in Savannah, Georgia, and her wedding in Hudson, Ohio. Louis J. Woolf wrote a piece titled “Housing for Older Adults … HSL’s Communities” in “Aging Wisely … Wisdom of Our Elders,” a book of essays on how to age well.
