Susan Heyman, professor at the Roger Williams University School of Law, published an article in The George Washington Law Review titled “Corporate Privilege and an Individual’s Right to Defend.” David Orentlicher joined the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law faculty as the Cobeaga Law Firm Professor and co-director of the UNLV Health Law Program. In addition to teaching classes in constitutional law, and bioethics and law, he teaches a new health-law legislative advocacy and drafting course. Kruti Parekh is a coach for healing and justice at YouthBuild, a small alternative holistic community program in Los Angeles. She worked for 12 years with the Youth Justice Coalition, advocating for a healthier LA for all youth, and challenging mass incarceration and police brutality. Her social work/organizing career was inspired by Teddy Gross ’69, whose organization, Common Cents, Kruti joined as an AmeriCorps VISTA member after graduation. Kruti lives in LA with her 9-year-old son, Khalil. Dean Tran was elected to the state Senate seat for the Worcester and Middlesex district in Massachusetts in a special election in December.
