30th Reunion

Chicu Capriles, P’20, writes that his daughter Andrea ’20 is now a Brandeis student. He reports, “It was wonderful and nostalgic to return to the Brandeis campus after almost 30 years.” Jennifer Gallop is participating in YW Boston’s 2017 LeadBoston, a yearlong executive-leadership program for professional women. Jennifer is a law partner at Krokidas & Bluestein. Nina Haller was named a director at Mestel & Co., a national attorney-placement firm. Based in Los Angeles, Nina specializes in the placement of associates, counsel and in-house counsel at law firms and corporations across various industries. Before joining Mestel, she worked as a development professional for several nonprofit ventures, including the David Lynch Foundation, Beit T’Shuvah and the Jewish Community Federation of the Greater East Bay. Judith (Charry) Nelkin does a range of interfaith work in Dublin, Ireland, from teaching school groups about Judaism to working with organizations that promote understanding and cooperation among the three Abrahamic faiths. In November, she chaired a conference titled “Women of Faith: Channels of Peace and Dialogue”; one of the keynote speakers was the wife of the president of Ireland. Judith’s elder daughter is a freshman at the University of Nottingham in England, and her younger daughter celebrated her bat mitzvah in October. Stuart Spencer married Mieko Okada on Dec. 17 in Hong Kong. The couple honeymooned in New Zealand.

JUDGED A SUCCESS: About 200 Brandeisians, including the families of Jeff Sorkin ’87 and Larry Kahn ’91, cheered the men’s and women’s basketball teams to victory against Case Western at the annual Alumni Family Basketball Day. Lenny and Amy Greenberg Bard, both ’79, chaired the event.
