Plan and implement three projects per semester (including events, social media initiatives, and more) with support from Spiritual Life staff.
Events may include guest speakers, discussions, hands-on workshops & more.
Events will feature a mix of student perspectives and subject experts (chaplains, other university staff, or outside individuals).
Create marketing and recruitment materials, utilizing basic content creation skills such as graphic design (Canva), video editing (iMovie or similar), and social media (Instagram).
Recruit student participants via distribution of marketing materials, tabling, outreach to clubs, classes and departments, and 1-1 peer engagement.
Collaborate with campus partners and peer leaders on spirituality-related programs and events.
Represent the Center for Spiritual Life via attendance at select campus events.
Be visible, approachable, and available to peers; serve as a role model in the community.
Eligibility:
Full-time undergraduate students with GPA of 2.5 or higher and good standing with the Office of Student Rights & Community Standards.
At least two consecutive semesters remaining on-campus at Brandeis.
Skills and Qualifications:
Students with a demonstrated interest in contributing to spiritual life at Brandeis.
You do not have to be a part of an existing faith community on campus.
Students with underrepresented spiritual or religious identities are encouraged to apply!
Desire to help build community and facilitate engaging gatherings.
Ability to engage and support peers in a diverse environment.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and to initiate and complete tasks with limited supervision.
Flexibility, reliability, and ability to function within a collaborative team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Prior completion of Conversations that Matter is preferred.
Expectations:
This position requires a 1-year commitment, with the possibility of renewal.
Average of 5 hours of weekly work for 15 weeks each semester. Hours include both consistent, scheduled in-office work, and occasional work at other times for events or outreach.
Participation in ongoing paid training (e.g. religious literacy, discussion facilitation, 1-1 peer engagement, graphic design and social media, outreach).
Weekly group meeting with Associate Director of Spiritual Life.
Attendance at one Spiritual Life program in a tradition outside your own each month.
