Conversations That Matter

A different kind of conversation.

Sound interesting? Applications for the next cohort of Conversations that Matter open at the start of each semester. Over the course of five weeks, this fellowship explores some of life’s big questions (like “What does it mean to lead a good life?”) in order to explore the assumptions and values that make us tick.

We're not trying to find the perfect answer or agree on everything. But you'll definitely leave with a clearer view of your own take on the world and new insight into how others see things. Plus, you'll pick up some skills for handling potentially challenging discussions -- in your residence halls, classes, clubs, internships, and beyond.

The application can be found at: bit.ly/ctmdeis. All undergraduate and graduate Brandeis students are welcome to participate. Contact Lara Ericson with any questions.

Wondering if this is right for you? Here’s what past participants have had to say about Conversations that Matter!

“I connected with people I did not think I could have connected with.”

"Conversations That Matter is a once-in-a-lifetime experience where you can share and learn about perspectives from a variety of different backgrounds and identities. It is a safe space where you are free to share your thoughts, feelings, and stories without judgment."

“This program will challenge you to look deep inside yourself. Be ready to realize things about yourself and others that you’d never discover otherwise.”

“This is an opportunity to learn and to practice being gentle, warm, compassionate, and genuine. It is so hard to find community like the one you will find in Conversations that Matter. These conversations and people will open your eyes, give you perspective, and bring you peace and family like no other!”
