Google Gemini
All Brandeis users with a valid @brandeis.edu email address have access to Google Gemini. For more information, please review the Gemini Product Page.
Microsoft Copilot Chat
Active faculty, staff, and students, as well as temporary staff, scholars, contingent workers and researchers with affiliate appointments have access to Microsoft Copilot Chat under our campus licensing. For more informationm please review the Copilot Product Page.
Zoom AI
All Brandeis members with an active @brandeis.edu email address have access to Zoom's AI features. For more information, please review our Zoom AI Product Page.
Data Security
Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Zoom AI are available to the Brandeis community and come with Enterprise Data Protection (EDP). This ensures the security of data in the following ways:
- Data Confidentiality: Prompts, inputs, and outputs are not used for model training.
- Data Privacy: User interactions are not reviewed by humans.
- Data Ownership: Organizations retain data ownership.
- Security and Compliance: Gemini meets enterprise standards like ISO 42001, BSI C5, FedRAMP High, GDPR, and supports HIPAA compliance.
- Access Control: Gemini respects existing Google Workspace security settings, such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules and Information Rights Management (IRM).
Note: Individually purchased products like ChatGTP do not offer this level of data security. This is true even if you disable "AI Model Improvement" settings. Typically, those settings only provide you with Data Confidentiality coverage and not the other security features listed above. Before purchasing an individual license to any AI software, read the AI Steering Council Policy on AI Purchases.
