Digital Signage
Brandeis Media Technology Services supports the MVIX digital signage platform as the most adopted solution on campus with over 24 implementations.
A deployment requires the purchase of a TV monitor display, display mount, electrical and network infrastructure installation, and Mvix hardware player, and ongoing software licensing fees. Costs may vary based on the installation location & hardware requirements for each installation. Minimum costs expected can be upwards of $4,000 or more.
Departments are responsible for funding their own deployments. ITS will provide you with options and quotes at no cost to you.

MTS supports the Mvix platform as the preferred solution for digital signage at Brandeis. If a group wishes to use another solution or platform for digital signage, it will not be supported by MTS and we will not be able to assist you in the purchasing or installation process. Depending on the solution chosen, ITS may also not be able to support the installation of network infrastructure for the project.

Departments and groups on campus have varying needs for digital signage. Some departments do not require any signage, while others require multiple implementations. As there is no centralized fund for digital signage, departments are individually responsible to fund their own solutions to create an equitable distribution and expenditure of funds based on assessment and needs on a case-by-case basis.
MTS is unaware of any reliable "free" platforms for digital signage.
Individual staff are required to develop, manage, and schedule your own content.
MTS does not provide any content development, management or scheduling support; however we can assist in training for the use of the Mvix system following installation.
MTS will provide the initial Mvix hardware setup, user-account setup, and ongoing hardware maintenance at no cost. The initial purchase cost of an MVIX player includes free device upgrade after 3 years. While we provide maintenance for hardware and will work with vendors on warranties for you, we do not cover costs for replacement of hardware or if any additional electrical or network connections need to be set up.
