In August, Trustee Leslie Meltzer Aronzon welcomed members of the incoming Class of 2023 to her home in Pacific Palisades, California. New students and their parents met alumni and learned about the Brandeis community in Southern California, where Jackie Simons ’89 leads the local alumni club. Stephen Coan, Heller MMHS’90, Heller PhD’97, an environmentalist who is president and CEO of Sea Research Foundation, delivered the keynote speech to the graduating class of Sea Lab College at the Marine Science Education Center, in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Heidi Terkel Daitch has been named chief strategy officer at Sontiq, a high-tech security and identity protection firm. Dennis Kelleher recently marked the ninth anniversary of Better Markets, a nonprofit he co-founded to promote the public interest in the financial markets. Last summer, he gave presentations at a conference hosted by the Federal Reserve System’s board of governors and at a Financial Stability Board workshop at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Ben Miele has been appointed executive vice president of global sales at wealth-management software company Vestmark. Tamar Schwartz was promoted to professor of law, legal practice, at the University of Richmond’s Williams School of Law.
