Curt Davis, Heller MA’11, recently completed a PhD in energy and environmental policy at the University of Delaware. His dissertation, which explores cooks’ perceptions of household energy in rural Nicaragua, continued research he started for his master’s degree in the Sustainable International Development program at Heller. Alexis Mann, MA’11, PhD’18, was named program associate at the John T. Gorman Foundation, in Portland, Maine. Jessica Lowenthal, MA/MBA’12, was installed as rabbi at Temple Beth Shalom in Melrose, Massachusetts. She will also serve as the congregation’s education director. In 2019, Jane Odhiambo, MA’13, celebrated her 51st birthday on Aug. 14, her silver-jubilee (25th) wedding anniversary on Aug. 20 and her firstborn’s college graduation on Sept. 20. Lesly Joseph, MS’16, and Valesca Saint Cyr were married in Pétion-Ville, Haiti, on Sept. 6. Ye Pogue, MA’16, PhD’19, was appointed to the Belmont (Massachusetts) Civil Rights Commission to serve the immigrant community. Carole Allen, MBA’17, has been elected vice president of the Massachusetts Medical Society. Gregory Antoine, MS’17, is senior associate dean for clinical affairs and chief medical officer at Morehouse School of Medicine, in Atlanta. Sonam Tshomo, MA’18, works in Bhutan at the Australia Awards office, managing scholarship programs targeted at human resource development. “As a scholarship recipient myself, I can’t emphasize enough the doors of opportunities that scholarships provide,” the former World Bank Scholar writes. Krista Acosta, Heller MA/MBA’19, and Ekow Edzie were married in a traditional Dominican wedding in the Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, countryside, attended by Heller friends and alumni. Jill Majorie Baren, Heller MBA’19, a physician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, has been named president of the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
