In January, George Kahn began recording his 10th jazz album as part of a quartet. It’s scheduled to be released by summer’s end. Last year, he held a jazz and blues concert that raised more than $80,000 for People Assisting the Homeless, to help support transitional housing. This summer, Jakki Kouffman will teach painting workshops at the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum School. Last year, she exhibited her paintings in 14 shows and won top prizes for her work at the Cape Cod Art Center. She recently was elected a signature member of the center and the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. Jakki and her husband live in Truro, Massachusetts. Although she has not yet retired, Nancy Shulman moved to Gulfport, Florida, where many of her family members reside. Her children and 10-month-old granddaughter, Lyla, live in Massachusetts. Peter Wortsman celebrated the publication of two books, “Stimme und Atem/Out of Breath, Out of Mind,” and “A Modern Way to Die.” The former is a bilingual (German-English) book of Peter’s stories, originally written in German, and the latter is a second edition of his first book of short fiction. Both are available from Small Press Distribution.
