Andrea Fineman and Jeremy Karp welcomed son Nathan Stewart Karp on Feb. 8 in San Francisco. They celebrated with a brit shalom naming ceremony in Golden Gate Park. Michael Lapides is product management lead at software company Palantir. Formerly, he worked in the space and aeronautics industry. Michael volunteers at a wildlife rehabilitation center, where he teaches injured young hummingbirds how to drink. Daniel Litwok and wife Carly Schmand Litwok ’11 have welcomed a daughter, Maya Rose. Daniel is senior associate at social-science research firm Abt Associates in Rockville, Maryland. Carly is executive director at Congregation Har Shalom in Potomac. James and Stacey Liu ’11 welcomed their first child, Ava Jillian, on July 30, 2021. Josh Pernick, GSAS MAT’13, is JCRC director and rabbi-in-residence at the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, in Connecticut. Previously, he was a congregational rabbi in New Orleans. He says he would love to connect with Brandeis alumni living in the New Haven area. Anne Schweitzer holds a seat on the St. Louis (Missouri) Board of Aldermen, representing the city’s 13th Ward.
