Responsible Conduct of Research

The responsible conduct of research (RCR) is a critical component of the education and training of all scientists engaged in research.

Online Training

Brandeis University requires all researchers supported on a sponsored project, including students, postdocs, staff and faculty, to complete a Responsible Conduct of Research online training course within 60 days of beginning work on the project. This course is offered through the CITI Program and must be completed every four years as long as you are working on any funded research project, regardless of whether the funding is internally (Brandeis-funded) or externally sponsored

Please note that this training is in addition to any IRB, IACUC or IBC training required by the university.

In-person Training

In addition, all graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the Division of Science are required to attend the interactive RCR workshop (formerly CONT 300). Both graduate students and postdoctoral researchers must participate in this workshop every four years and at each career stage.
