2023 Master's Cohort
The following students entered the master's in philosophy program in fall 2023:I am a Brandeis alumna, Brandeis staff member, and now joyously a Brandeis graduate student! By day, I work in technical theater - building sets and scenery - and by night I am a philosopher - studying ideas, conversing with people, and figuring out how the world works. My central philosophical interests are Metaphysics and Epistemology, with a focus on abstract objects. When not otherwise engaged, I enjoy seeing shows, taking walks, and creating things with my hands.
I graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in philosophy and a minor in English. I have a wide range of of philosophical interests but I am primarily excited for ethics and epistemology. Outside of this, I enjoy hiking, yoga, reading, and playing geoguessr.
Ian holds a BA in Philosophy from Swarthmore College. He is primarily interested in philosophy of death, philosophy of mind, ethics, and cross-cultural philosophy. Outside of philosophy, he enjoys playing boardgames, hanging out with friends, and working out.
Yujuan Zhang graduated from Peking University with a BA in philosophy. Her research interests are meta-ethics, moral responsibility, and free will. She is also interested in 19th-century philosophy, particularly Nietzsche. When not doing philosophy, she enjoys skiing, writing fiction, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
