Getting Started

Research Guides & Library Support

This guide provides tips for effective research and information about the different recommended library resources available for locating sources in Brandeis University Writing Seminars.

These discipline-specific guides provide recommended resources and research tips that will also be useful to your students as they develop and investigate their research paper topics.

The Brandeis Library has a wealth of resources to help you and your students begin their research. Check this page for a good overview of what they have to offer.

Helpful Resources

The Writing Center holds workshops on all three major UWS assignments. This 2020 presentation offers guidance for the entire research process.
Zotero is a free, essential tool for collecting, organizing, and citing sources. It works with MS Word, Google Docs, Chrome, and other browsers. The Library also typically offers dedicated Zotero workshops and (as of 2020) in-class visits to help your students become more comfortable using this research tool. See [insert link to page once created] for more information on Zotero.
