Personalizing the LATTE Shell
In the header, you can simply type in your course title, meeting times, your name, etc. by editing the label. However, it requires extra steps to replace the existing photograph with yours. There are two different options. If you like the stylistic circle and are comfortable with simple html code, follow the set of instructions below. However, if you prefer a square photo or prefer to simply use the toolbar, then follow the second set of instructions below.
Expand All
Replacing Your Photo (Circle Format)
- Go to your course shell in LATTE and click on the brown Turn editing on button.
- Click Edit settings to the right of the Course Overview label.
- To enlarge the label to see all of the elements, grab the bottom right corner of the box with diagonal slashes (see red circle in left image) and drag the window to your preferred size (see second image).
- Go find a digital image of your photograph whether on a Brandeis faculty page or your LinkedIn page or elsewhere. (Type in your “name” and “Brandeis” in a search box to quickly find your photo.)
- Right click on your photo with your mouse or trackpad and click on Copy Image Address (see text in red box below).
- Go back to the window with the text editor and select the html icon (the last button on the tool bar).
- Go to line 10 (at red arrow) in the html text and copy the image address between the quotes on line 11 that follow <img src=”[copy image address here]”. Be sure not to delete the quotes around the image address you have copied.
- Next replace the alternative text for screen readers with your name at alt=“a headshot of [your name, PhD]”.
- Click on the html icon again in the toolbar to confirm that your photo is now replaced. You can edit your name under the photo and other text in the text box by highlighting the text and typing your name.
