Review and Update Personal Information

Review and Update Disability Status, Veterans Status
- Login to Workday.
- Under "Personal Information," click "Employee Self ID."
- If any changes are necessary, select the appropriate radio button.
- Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.
Review Personal Information

Under "Personal Information," use the "View" section to review your name, addresses (home and mailing), phone numbers, emergency contacts and ethnic groups.
- If you wish to make changes, follow the directions in the accordions below. You cannot edit gender or date of birth. For assistance with these changes, please email hris@brandeis.edu.

Legal or Preferred Name Changes
Name changes are reviewed, approved and finalized by the payroll office. The name must match the name on record with the Social Security Administration. To submit a request:
- Under the "Change" section, select "Legal Name" and/or "Preferred Name" (you may request changes to either or both).
- Enter your new name in the appropriate fields. At a minimum, you must provide your first and last name.
- Click the orange "Submit" button.
- The name change will appear online and on your paycheck once your request has been reviewed and approved. You will also receive an email regarding the status of your request. If you have another name that you prefer or use professionally, please send an email to hris@brandeis.edu to request that change.
Home or Mailing Address Changes
To update home address (where you live) or mailing address (where official university mailings are sent):
- Under the "Change" section, select "Contact Information."
- Click "Edit" button at top of page.
- Click the pencil icon to make edits. When entering a U.S. address, you must complete the fields denoted with a red asterisk (*). If you'd like your changes to take effect at a future date, complete the "Effective Date" field; otherwise, changes will take effect immediately.
- Click the orange "Submit" button at bottom of page.
- You will receive an email confirming the change.
Home or Cellphone Number Changes
Please note: Campus e-mail addresses, which are used for university communications, may not be changed in Workday.
To update home address (where you live) or mailing address (where official university mailings are sent):
