Interpreter Services for Faculty and Staff
INSTRUCCIONES para Servicios de Intérpretes (Español)
Step 1
If you need to call-in another person and they are NOT physically with you, you will need them merged into the call before you call the interpreter.
The interpreter is unable to dial-out to other parties.
Step 3
When the operator answers, provide:
- You're from Brandeis University
- Your language preference
- Your department
- Business related purpose of call
Step 4
Now you will be connected to an interpreter.
If an interpreter is not available to assisting other calls, you will be offered an alternative or can request a call back. The agent will explain how a call back works.
Step 5
- Speak in short sentences and allow time for pauses.
- For the best connection, use a land line to connect.
- Speak freely; all interpreters are sworn to confidentiality by the interpreter's Code of Ethics.
