Learning Design Team

Our Learning Design Team is available to collaborate with you on solutions for your teaching challenges. We can work with you to design and develop courses, assignments, assessments and more. We will work in a holistic manner, integrating teaching with technology, streamlining your workload and increasing engagement for students.

For example, do you want your students to be able to give each other feedback on their practice presentations without taking up class time? A learning designer can help you integrate a VoiceThread activity in which students record themselves giving their practice talk, allowing the instructor and other students to leave time-stamped feedback on their recording.

If you’d like to meet with a learning designer for help with instructional design, course development, and online/hybrid teaching, please feel free to sign up for an in-person or Zoom consultation appointment. You may also schedule an appointment with a specific team member by using the links below.

Associate Director of Learning Design

I came to learning design through years of teaching ESL in community college and university programs. Subsequently, I spent over 20 years in higher education, across four institutions of higher education. I've worked at the intersection of teaching and learning design — helping faculty think through challenges, test ideas, and design learning experiences that are engaging, purposeful, and adaptable to new technologies.

A few areas where I bring particular expertise include:

  • Rethinking assignments and assessments for an AI-aware era — from interactive oral assessments to other authentic ways of showing learning
  • Designing formative feedback and peer review processes that help students refine their understanding and communicate their learning
  • Blending the online environment with in-person teaching and learning.
