Robert Friedlander, MA’87, chair of neurological surgery, and professor of neurosurgery and neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Medicine, joined the Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s medical advisory board. Geoffrey Larsen is the new building commissioner in Provincetown, Mass. He had served since 2005 in the same post for the neighboring Cape Cod town of Harwich. Sheila MacDonald released her third contemporary folk-music CD, “Tangle of Trees.” Michele Steinberg was named manager of the National Fire Protection Association’s Wildland Fire Operations Division. Since 2002, Michele has managed the Firewise Communities program, which encourages local solutions for safety by helping homeowners take individual responsibility for preparing their homes for the risk of wildfire. Wayne Weitz was elected to the board of directors of the People’s Emergency Center, a West Philadelphia agency dedicated to nurturing families, strengthening neighborhoods and driving change. He is managing director at Gavin/Solmonese, a corporate consulting firm.
